Most Precipitation Recorded

This year we had the most rain recorded in a single year since we started keeping records on our weather station.  This is rain and snow that fell in Soldiers Pass Sedona measured by the Cottages At Coffeepot weather station.

Record Setting Rain In August

We were well on our way with the record setting month of monsoon rain recorded in August (see blue box above).  The only other year to have 5 inches of precipitation was January of 2010 which is the year that has held the record until now.

A Christmas Gift Of Rain

The last rain that put us over the top was recorded on December 21 and 22.  It has been a light and steady rain which is good for all the plants and trees. According to the weather forecast, we may not be done yet! New Years Eve there is rain in the forecast.

A White Christmas!

We just recorded 6.5 inches of snow for December.  The chart will be changed after the year is over.

Rain and snow even when it melts provide the needed water for aquifiers and resevoirs so many communities need. So am sure you are glad for a little rain, especially steady.

Hope some of that rain heads over our way.  We have over 5 years to make up.  So far we are doing well.  A

Across the country water has been in short supply, you are in good shape if you can record a record high and it is still in that range.

Hi Sheri

You are fortunate to have had that rain. We are always in need, but we've had several days of rain recently which has been such a treat - things are so much greener on the hillsides! We'd be happy for you to share any rain you might want to!

Hi Sheri --- and I bet with the record rain in Sedona, the air must be even clearer, cleaner and make living there even better(if that's possible).

I always like a White Christmas as long as it isn't too much snow so people can't get around. We had a lot of rain this year and are still behind for the year's totals.
