Why Wait until January for the Post-Holiday Blues?!
While I don't use my website as a personal 'diary' (if you will), I do enjoy sharing tidbits of my personal life here, as I have so many relationships with fellow ActiveRain members! This is just a SUCH great place to share!
As many of you know (especially those of you who follow me on my personal Facebook page), my oldest son (Matthew), who is a native Charlottean, was recently transferred to Orlando.
Shortly after he and his girlfriend were married, I began dreaming of grandchildren - I have none and personally, don't think I'm old enough to be a granny (LOL) but, I simply cannot wait! I even dreamed of all of the babysitting I would be able to do when they have their first child! I truly cannot wait!
Then, he received word of a big job promotion and while in my heart, I was sad to see him move away, I put on my happy face and congratulated him. Of COURSE I am happy for him and so very proud of him but, it was simply going to be very difficult to see him go!
When he left, his wife had to remain here in Charlotte until her job ended (last week) so, we invited her to stay with us when Matt had made the move in September. She is a pure ray of sunshine in our lives - we all ADORE her and have loved having her in our home for the past few months.
Matt flew in for Christmas on Friday and today, as I stood in the door, watching he and his new bride leave, I was overcome with incredible sadness! I know it's a quick flight to Orlando; I know, others have children on the East coast while they live on the West coast. Heck, there are many who have children serving overseas in the military or permanently living abroad - so, I have nothing to complain about, right?! Then why am I this BLUE?!!
Those who know me know that I am positive as near to 100% of the time as anyone on the planet -- well, that streak came to a screeching halt today! LOL Seriously, I'll be over it tomorrow but, now I completely understand the post-holiday blues!!
The photo above (of Matt & Mili) was taken in our home, Christmas of 2014. The photo below was taken yesterday when both boys were here for Christmas - truly the best gift of all for me was having them both here for the weekend!

Happy Monday everyone! Thanks for reading and for letting me 'poor-me' for a minute! ;-)
