My dad was my teacher in a one room school in West Virginia in the first, second, third, fourth grades. One room means:

1out in the country

2 no running water

3 coal burning stove in the middle of the room or two gas stoves in two corners of the room.

4 out house for rest rooms

5 first through sixth grade in the same room

6 about three to four students for each grade

He taught us to say the Lord's prayer and pledge allegiance to the flag very morning, we also did square dancing, and learned to sing songs, reading, writing, arithmetic and spelling.

FAST FORWARD to 1979 - my wife and son moved from Columbus Ohio to Phoenix Arizona and for the next 28 years we attend Camelback Church of Christ, and most Sunday mornings, I had a strong desire to lead singing, cappella in front of an audience of around 300 people. But I was afraid.

After one year being a member of Toastmasters - I had the courage and walked up to one of the Elders and said I would like to lead singing. He said: "go ahead."

more than 15 individuals came to me and congratulated me, bragged on me, and said things like: "I didn't know you could lead singing."

Now you know the rest of the story on what Toastmasters can do, when you let it.

Why don't you visit two clubs THIS WEEK, and join one next week. Your sales career could skyrocket.

Toastmasters is an excellent way to learn how to organize your thoughts, and polish your presentation skills, whether it's a crowd of five or five thousand.  I actively participated for many years, achieving the highest level possible.  For a while, we even had an advanced group made up of only members that had achieved the highest level so as to work with each other in developing our professional speaking careers.
