I am not a huge fan of New Year's Eve and never have been. Going out is not an option for me. Been there, done that. I prefer a gathering at home or at a close friend's. Everything is overpriced and crowded. I also don't believe you need to wait until January 1st to make resolutions. It's a nice idea and I get it, but I personally choose to make myself better each and every day. So, when December 31st rolls around I look back and appreciate my accomplishments and just see the next year as an overall time period to continue my personal goals.
I've also experienced disappointment when I have tried to make resolutions and they fade away by February 1st. Then I just kick myself! So, my New Year's resolutions are never specific habits to kick but rather tiny efforts daily to be a better version of me.
With that said, I do enjoy the festivities surrounding New Year's but prefer watching them on TV and catching Z's by 12.30am. Then again, that may just be the progression of (uh-hum...) maturity.
How do you celebrate New Year's and do you make resolutions?
