NOT In My Neighborhood.....!!!!

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Real Estate RS282607

Trash day....especially after the Christmas Holiday...Boxes, Bottles, Paper...OH MY!!!! Sorting out the recycle and the perishables...yes it is a pain in the...where the sun shines the least, however, we must protect the environment we live in.

No, I am not a radical environmentalist, I do however believe we must respect the environment we live and work in....We are keepers for the generations to come, and should make the world a better place than we received it...

So...what prompted me to blog about this this morning???? As I was putting the trash bin out on the curb this morning I noticed some debris someone tossed on the sidewalk across the street; so I crossed the street to pick it up and dispose of it. Is it my job??? Not my trash, but yes it is my job to help keep my neighborhood clean, not just for my enjoyment, but for everyone's enjoyment...

As I drive through many neighborhoods in Philadelphia I see the debris that is tossed on the ground, and people pass by, or are also culpable for the debris. I also wonder how anyone can sit on their front porch or step with trash piled in front of their homes, street, neighborhood; and do nothing. Now I am not stating all Philadelphia neighborhoods are like this, but just imagine if just one person would pick up one piece of paper in the city, ensure the front of their house was debris free...imagine a Nation with the same objective.... Oh wait...

Are we as a society at fault for not teaching about sustainability, or just being a good neighbor? Should we as real estate professionals educate home-owners about keeping the areas they live in debris free? Some may state that enforcing homeowners to keep their neighborhoods clean may infringe upon the rights of the homeowner, however, we are all in this together, and just having pride of ownership goes a looooooooong way. Education is key.

Regardless of the thoughts or feelings of others, I will keep doing my part....Attitude Reflects Leadership....

Carpe Diem!!!!

Peter Lavelle I agree that we need to set the example and lead by that. If others see us doing it, it encourages them, hopefully to pick up, or open a door for others, or give assistance etc. It is all about who is important to you, yourself or putting others first.
