I suppose that Plan B or not to Plan B all depends on what your Plan A is comprised of…For me, my plan A has been straightforward:
- Love God and live in such a way that He will say “Well done, My good and faithful servant.”
- To be an excellent wife and mother.
Those two key goals in my life have been wrapped with the paper of hope and expectation and been the basis of every other venture or endeavor. What I have chosen to do or not do. This is and has been my Plan A. I have no plan B.
Does that mean that my Plan A does not have modifications? Of course not. Over the years there have certainly been some conflicts and lots of modifications. I added a job, changed positions, changed companies, changed my profession and came full circle from sales, to real estate sales, to escrow to lending and most recently back to real estate sales. About 35 years ago I stumbled upon Proverbs 31:10 – 31 validated my “Plan A” proving to me, that striving for business successes can be in line with being the best wife and mother, employee, manager, and Realtor. As evidenced by this scripture as long as I hold true to my Plan A. The Proverbs 31 Woman became my rolemodel.
I believe that as long as my path holds true to my A Plan I’m on the right track. In times where it appeared that my choices would be in conflict with my A plan, I made course adjustments, whether that meant leaving a job or changing my position… to stay true to The Plan. It all gets down to how BIG a person’s WHY is. My why, for my A plan is HUGE and I will not be derailed.
The benefits? Blessings galore!! Nearly 50 years of marriage, to my high school sweetheart. A comfortable life. Wonderful kids and grand-kids. A home more comfortable than I would ever have imagined when I first set out at 18 to become a wife and mother.
I would hope that at the end of my days I have stayed true to these values which is My Plan A. No plan B or C is necessary...
