I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and say how grateful I am that another Successful Year is coming to an end and how much I look forward to an even better 2017!
As we say Goodbye to 2016 we all tend to reflect and review the year, we all had good things happen in our lives and in our business also we had some not so good things happen as well. We all have traditions, rituals that we tend to follow. Some are cultural traditions we inherited from our families as they have been passed down to us generation after generation. Many of these traditions have been modified over time for various reasons.
Some of my rituals I find therapeutic, others I find beneficial in improving my life and all around me for the New Year! So, let me share some of them here.
I review my American Express Annual Statement and use it as a guide to reflect. As I scan it, the Restaurant Bills jump out at me and I enjoy seeing the wonderful Restaurants and the experience we enjoyed with friends, family and clients.
The next area I love reviewing is the mini vacation trips we have taken. I immediately reflect that I need to have more in 2017, since they were so memorable, why not create more memories.
Then I look at the Veterinary charges and I just smile how well our pets are taken care of and muse that what a great business that profession is from a business perspective as well as how much good that profession does to so many.
The next area I focus on is my Amazon purchases. I Love the fact, that I can just look at all the items I ordered.( I know it is hard for you to imagine what most my purchases were) My addiction to Books, every time I get to this point I make a resolution: I will blog less and read more! Those of my readers and friends who know me, are aware that I do not believe in New Year’s Resolutions, since most are broken in the first week. Instead, I begin to strategies how I can be more efficient and accomplish both. After all I am also addicted to Active Rain and blogging, since it helps me generate new business and cultivate friendship with likeminded members.
Then I look at all my closed transaction lists and see where my transactions came from. I make notes to self as how I can expand and increase this list. Then I focus is on how to accomplish this i.e.: I create a road map.
Once all this is done, I prepare for our newer tradition, to get ready to go out for an early dinner/ late lunch. This is to make sure we are home long before the amateurs hit the road. Then Diane and I are ensconced in our warm home with our four-legged family for the rest of the night. This of course is done to protect them and reassure them that the Fireworks are not so scary.
In-between watching some of the New Year’s Eve shows/revelries on TV, I prepare the traditional lentil soup.
So, with that said I would like to wish you all a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous 2017! If you need any Real Estate help I am around, feel free to reach out to me.
IF you are in the mood please share your traditions with me here.
I will leave you with one final note: No matter what you do or do not do, 2016 will be in the history books in a few hours and a New Year will begin! Happy New Year to all!
