The Live Music Capital of the World kicks off the new year right with Free Week sponsored by Do512 (a popular website for finding the latest and greatest events going on in Austin) and featuring 100's of music shows. These 14 days showcases Austin area bars throwing open their doors and throwing out cover charges in order to help Austinites discover new music from around in the Austin area.
This is a down low precursor to the March madness of SXSW featuring localish bands that you can discover now before the hype, lines and prices of SXSW gets started.
What a great and free way to kick off 2017 in the Live Music Capital of the World.
There are a full nights line up at each venue so you can just stop by your favorite bar and kick back and discover some new music. Check out all the action at Free Week Austin
