Snow Bowl say, "Flagstaff is much different from the Arizona you’re picturing. Here in northern Arizona, cacti and desert heat give way to cool pines and scenic, snowy peaks. Located on the majestic San Francisco Peaks at 9,500 feet above sea level, Arizona Snowbowl is your year-round high elevation destination, whether you’re skiing in the sun in the winter or escaping the desert heat in the summer. You don’t have to travel very far to enter a whole different climate. Arizona Snowbowl lies just 14 miles outside of Flagstaff, 2 hours from Phoenix, and 70 miles from the Grand Canyon."
