In this multiple offer/ low inventory universe, sometimes sellers overlook a few staging details that can get their home sold quicker and for more money.
Hardwood floors have become the standard feature that most buyers want. Buyers tend to prefer hardwood floors because of its added value to the home and it is easier to maintain than carpet for the most part.
But, if you want to showcase those shining hardwoods while your home is on the market, why cover them up with area rugs?

Hardwood floors also make your space seem larger because of the lines. And, if you are trying to sell for top dollar, you want the buyer to walk in and not only see the space but FEEL the space as well.
And, while we are talking about taking up the rugs. Let’s also get rid of the bath mats and rugs.
Bathrooms are supposed to be tranquil spaces, clean and bright. Don’t dull your space for buyers by leaving those mats down while your home is on the market.
I know that this may be a hard pill to swallow for many sellers, but remember, your home is on the market and it is a product to be sold.
