Working on Goals

Real Estate Agent with GreatWest Realty DRE# 00827565
It was in mid November, I formulated my three 2017 New Year's resolutions. They were to (1) Learn to cook the five main French sauces, (2) Lose 15 pounds, and (3) Learn Spanish.

The French sauces were easy. It turned out I already knew how to make Bechamel and Hollandaise. The other 3 sauces were simple enough to learn.
However because of the holidays, I'm now 20 pounds away from my goal of losing 15 pounds.

Yesterday, I started on my quest to learn Spanish. I am using the free online application, DuoLingo. I just got my first CONGRATULATIONS, for being 1% fluent in Spanish!

Nina Hollander - I am really enjoying the process of trying to learn Spanish.  The problem is it's like chiseling through concrete for it to penetrate to my brain!

Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI NMLS#1483386 - You're right about trying to lose weight while learning to cook French sauces.  It's kind of an Oxy Moron!

Dorie Dillard - The amount of pies and cookies this holiday season over powered will power!

Raymond E. Camp - When I was younger, shedding pounds wasn't much of a challenge, but calories are like lock-jawed terriers in later life.

I have forgotten so much of the Spanish I learned in high school and college.  I could have pretty good conversations with some of the Spanish speaking crew of the restaurant where I worked.  But if you don't use it, you lose it.

Myrl, No problemo ... you are making progress.  Sometimes we need to lose a little in order to gain ...  or is that the other way around?

Hey Myrl, we can share Spanish words and type in Spanish to each other now! How cool is that!! I used Transparent Language, they will let you sign up for 6 months without an automatic renewal if you press them. I also subscribe to the SpanishDict Word of the Day. Every day they send you a new Spanish word to learn. Mucho el corage!
