It is getting closer. What is? That time when many people decide that it is time to sell their homes and move on to something bigger, smaller, different, etc. It usually begins around here in late February and extends to June. Folks are trying to move after the kids get out of school for the Summer and move in to the next before school starts again. It is a delicate dance.
So what is different about now? Well, it is time to start preparing your home for sale. If you plan on listing in February, now is a great time to start cleaning up and out, Painting, and fixing. I have a listing going on the market February 9th and the sellers and I have already met and outlined the areas in their home that needs some work. They are busily painting and fixing so that we can be ready for the professional photographer to come in on the 1st.
Listing a home properly is not a knee jerk reaction where we say I can have it listed today! While it is possible to do, it is never in the best interests of the seller.
