Over the years I have learned to listen to the real estate market -locally, nationally and globally.
When I was a younger, greener agent I thought I could buck the market and market trends but as I have gotten older and wiser I realize that researching and evaluating industry statistics helps me maximize my industry knowledge, insight and expertise as an industry professional and for my clients and their fiduciary interests. There is an old saying "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance." And that lesson has finally come home to me. Thus, now I am on a continual quest for high quality industry information. Nonetheless, I do realize that informational data has limits. You have to know when, where and how to evaluate that data and what effects it may have on your real estate specific market place. And I firmly believe that you must always remember that we are stewards for our clients and they deserve our very best advice. Of course, they don't always take it and that is their choice.
