Columbia County recives $2.8 Million in Regional Competition. Governor Cuomo's statewde Regional Economic Development Council initiative awarded 17 Columbia County projects with approximately $2.8 million in funding this year. Senator Schumer visited Hudson's waterfront to review key aspects of the City's economic development plan. During the visit the Senator urged CSX to work with the city. Local  officials press ahead in their proposal to acquire CSX land that could be the linchpin in its multi-millionm dollar redevelopment of the for KAZ warehouse site on Front Street. CEDC makes microloans to small, medium, and even large businesses. Funded by the US Small Business Adinistration, all decisions are locally, by local business owners and professionals. Think Wedding destination, brewery, cafe, or farm to table. Columbia Economic Development Corp is the lead economic development organization of Columbia County. Their mission is the strengthen the area's tax base through economic development and job creation, to assist businesses, to locaate, and expand within the County and to promote us as a premier spot for both business investment and personal opportunity.
