A Sales Person Needs To Be Consistent To Be Successful

Mortgage and Lending with George Souto NMLS #65149 FHA, CHFA, VA Mortgages NMLS #65149

There are several things sales people need to do to be successful.  Such as:

  • Be motivated
  • Return phone calls promptly
  • Network
  • Prospect
  • Stay in touch with past clients
  • Eliminate inefficiencies
  • Market themselves
  • Have product knowledge
  • Stand apart from others
  • Be visible
  • Be persistent
  • Have a Plan
  • Be organized
  • Know your competitors
  • Listen
  • Be truthful
  • Be trustworthy
  • Do what you say

There may be differences between different sales field, such as a sales person who works in a store verses as a sales person who has to generate his/her own business.   Therefore not everything in the list above will apply to all sales fields.  However, there is one thing a sales person needs to do in all sales fields, A Salesperson Needs To Be Consistent To Be Successful

Without consistency the objective will not be achieve.  However, being consistent does not mean not being able to adjust to changes.  It would be a big mistake to confuse one with the other.

My definition of consistency relates to the principle not the method, the two in my opinion are very different.  There is more than one way to do most of the points I listed above, and the way you go about doing them can change from time to time as long as you constantly follow through on each one.

So the bottom line for me is A Salesperson Needs To Be Consistent To Be Successful.  Without consistency success will not be achieved.

I'd say this is the primary area where salespeople struggle. Consistent, pointed effort in the right direction creates experts.

George- not only is this a great list but I love your explanation at the end. To be consistent doesn't mean that we don't embrace change. We just need to be consistent with our goals and our standards.

George,  Consistency is the key and where I from time to time miss the boat. There are days when I know I need to do XYZ and I just do not get to it. Eventually I do get the priority items done ... yet I know I can improve in this area. Congratulations on the Feature!

You are so right.  Consistency pays off, too.  Consumers want consistence, too.  They are tired of the old tire kickers who are just in it for  a quick buck.
