The new Riverwalk along the Hillsborough River in South Tampa is making great strides in bringing life into downtown Tampa, Florida. Starting at the Tampa Bay History Center on Channelside Dr., right next to the Florida Aquarium, the 2.5 mile trail winds along the Hillsborough River past the Convention Center, across from The University of Tampa, and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, ending at Water Works Park, right by Ulele restaurant in Tampa Heights. This meandering walkway - four decades in the making - offers a traffic-free space for biking, jogging, skating and strolling along downtown Tampa's beautiful - and until now - underutilized waterfront.
