The figures are in for 2016 real estate activity in Southern Chester County, Pennsylvania. As in neighboring New Castle County, Delaware, new listings were down, almost 5%, with single family detached inventory down a startling 34%! Talk about sellers hiding in their storm cellars! Those that took a step into the sunshine found that median sales prices were up over 20% and days on the market were down 8%.
Sellers need to make it possible for buyers who can take to heart the great humorist Will Rogers, who said, “Don’t wait to buy real estate. Buy real estate and wait.”
