According to the MLS statistics Kauai had a total of 1060 fee simple real estate closings for the 2016 year. Only 48 of those closing were REOs. This is only 4.5% of the market. I'm expecting the percentage to be the same for 2017. My daughter (Kela Caspillo) and I are in the process of purchasing a REO this year and hoping to renovate and flip it.
