The ActiveRain Guidelines Focus on Respect

As a blogging community, we have come to expect a certain degree of propriety when it come to the interaction we have with blog posts. There are the written Guidelines of the site and the civil propriety we practice which comes from a basic understanding of behavior amongst professionals. In simple terms, RESPECT.

Our code of ethics as agents mandates respect for our clients as well as the rest of the fiduciary responsibilities to which we adhere. When we are away from our clients and on the platform, the guidelines offer a path to follow to maintain properly blog etiquette.

The rules are simple, be respectful of another bloggers opinions. If one feels the need to disagree, likewise be mindful of another's feelings and if the thought is so strong, then just write an opposing blog post.

We should all be wise enough to respect Fair Housing while blogging. It not only can alienate the Internet audience but also find disfavor with your local Board of Realtors

ActiveRain offers a sense of harmony with each other and the community thrives for this. Using the Guidelines or more commonly the proper rules of life etiquette will not only make the experience more rewarding, but also give the reading audience a better fell for one's character which is what brings in the business.

Hi Ed

I think this is such an important part of the Community Guidelines for ActiveRain, but obviously also an essential part of being in our business and dealing with a wide range of people.

It does happen when I see a few derogatory remarks made...every market is differemt....not All buyers, sellers etc. do whatever...and because an agent or lender etc. has a different view or experience doesn't make them...wrong.

Hi Ed, I am glad we concentrated on this at the beginning of a new year.  One of the main reasons I love this community is because of the respect for one another and the support we give and get back.

Ed, I do like that for the most part this community knows how to respectfully disagree.  There's a rare person that doesn't get it, but they either learn or just as likely, realize this isn't the best place for them if they're looking for conflict.

Ed, Respect is so important here and in all dealings with others and with ourselves.  Good post and reminder why this AR community continues in a professional manner.

All the best in 2017!
