Well, I am up to watch the sunrise this morning, much as I am not facing east, and the island of Lanai is enrusted in darkness. This is much too early to be awake and working in Maui. It's also a good thing I did not rely on my stupid clock radio next to my bed to wake me up. I clearly set the timer at AM and not PM and it rests on auto, yet it did not go off.
The hotel rang my phone once at 6:30 AM. Nobody was on the line when I picked up, not even an automated voice, but it was really the thoughtless vacationers slamming their hotel door, followed by the loud banging of the door to the stairs, which made me jump out of bed. It is time to catch the ferry to Lanai to meet Hella Rothwell.
It is frustrating when technology disappoints, but it's even worse when you're paying for the privilege, as with family cellphone plans. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: Why the Cellphone Family Plan Totally Sucks.
