If you have time please go to Alameda Point to see the Harbor seals that have made their home in Alameda. They are fun to watch.
The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday January 14, and Tuesday, January 17 mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine. All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices. So good! Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers. The market is on Webster Street and Haight Avenue and is open rain or shine.
Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks will be at South Shore on Saturday, January 14, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot in front of Petco.
Native Plants and Butterfly Gardening volunteers needed to help beautify the Visitors Center at Crab Cove on Saturday, January 14 from 12:30 to 3:30. Tools provided as well as snacks and refreshments. Students can earn community service hours. Open to all children and their caregivers. Crab Cove is located at 1252 McKay Avenue. Special afternoon potluck and dance to Zydeco Magic with Andre Thierry on Sunday, January 15 at 5:00 pm, at the Eagles Hall, 2305 Alameda Avenue. $13 admission.
