Saturday Smiles: Santa Barbara Farmers Market 1/14/17

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants

It is a beautiful clear morning, 49 BRR degrees with an expected high of 70! All the farmers are here this morning, and the selection of fruit and vegetables are wonderful.  This is the season for natural vitamin C, citrus abounds!

Leeks and celery, two essential cooking ingredients for flavoring soups and other dishes.

Purple cauliflower is here. We love the color and taste. It is delicious sauteed with garlic and olive oil.

English peas made their first appearance this month.  Yes, you have to shell them however, it is worth the effort.

Wishing you lots of Saturday Smiles!

Good morning, Alexandra and Ron - yes, it is a bit chilly this morning yet the air was especially crisp and the skies extra blue when I first stepped outside.  These post-rain moments are very special.

Michael Jacobs I agree with you...we did not make it to 70, it has been revised to 64, which is still wonderful.  We went to Cold Springs Tavern for breakfast, and the springs were running like made into the forested creek.  One of our favorite waiters exclaimed, "We have white water, suitable for rafting!"  LOL

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD we have loved every drop of rain that has come our way, and then headed up to your neck of the woods in a more solid form...We are appreciating every bit of sunshine today also and are delighted to hear that  more rain is on its way next week...the hills were beautiful as we headed to the forest to our favorite breakfast place in the Los Padres National Forest, and the creek and springs were running like mad.  A

Myrl Jeffcoat you had me at bacon.  I love substituting leeks for onions in soup and also frying them up to a crisp and serving them over fish.  I am going to do that with pink grouper I bought this morning.  A
