Top Closing Prices for 2016

Real Estate Agent

Every year I write about some of the top prices that closed in the MLS. I put a little bit of a different spin on it this 2016 year.  We will have the same unbelievable foreclosure prices in some nearby upscale areas but I included our own area surrounding Schaumburg IL.

highest closed prices 2016Barrington Hills at $3,000,000 - 6BR's, 9.5BA's, 7 fireplaces, 10,600 square feet, 8 car garage, 11 acres of land.  Taxes are $52,700 per year.  This actually sounds terribly cheap to me for all this house.

highest prices of 2016Oakbrook at $2,300,000 - 9BR's, 13.5BA's, 4 fireplaces, 25,890 square feet, 8 car garage, 3 acres of land, pool area.  Taxes are $33,100 per year.

Both were cash transactions! Talk about boat loads of money.

The graph below shows you the highest sales prices for regular sales in our area & how many total closings there were in each category.  We sell a boat load of homes here ourselves!

Cash transactions!  Geez.  And comparatively, that first one does sound like a deal.

Lyn Sims This is an excellent topic for a blog market report. I might need to research the Sarasota Market and perhaps post in a few days. Thanks!

Can you imagine $53,000 a year property taxes or 26,000 to care for and clean?  I think I'd get lost in 26,000 - at the very least I'd get in my 10,000 steps in walking all over the house!  Lol.-Kasey
