Schweitzer Mountain Resort MLK Celebration
Martin Luther King weekend at Schweitzer Ski Resort is filled with activities. The highlight of which being the Northern Lights Fireworks display on Saturday night. The high level energy made for a great evening and show.
Kicking off the annual Northern Lights Fireworks Show is the torch parade, as shown below. Night skiing open for those willing to brave the low teen temperatures.

As an added bonus I was able to enjoy this years Christmas Tree that is
center in Schweitzer Village, and was still up for visitors to enjoy. I was
especially pleased because prior to Christmas this season I went early
morning/late night only to find they had the tree up but no lights on as of yet.
So I trust you will enjoy the beauty of the tree, the soft glow, and the quiet of
the surrounding village as I do every year.

With winter activities being center stage at Schweitzer Mountain Resort many don't realize the mountain is open year round. From the Jazz Festival, to Fall Fest and mountain bike riding there is pleanty offered year round. One of the more unexpected treats to visitors, when the snow has melted, is Huckleberry picking off the mountain trails.
Mojo Coyote Cafe is open 364 days a year. The nine mile climb from the base of the mountain to the village and a cup of Java is quite popular during summer and fall months. So don't mistake Schweitzer Mountain Resort as a single season operation. Come up enjoy everything from zip lining, biking, restaurants, and man made rock climbing.
