Last year was a great one for the Lake Oconee real estate market! Real estate sales were slow to begin with, but as we transitioned from Spring into Summer, the number of sales greatly increased and continued to trend upwards into the fall months. They leveled off, and then dipped ever-so-slightly in December, which was expected due to the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. There were 57 transactions in December 2016: 30 residential properties and 27 land lots. Below is a brief summary of the Lake Oconee real estate market for December 2016.
57 Real Estate Sales in the Lake Oconee area
- 22 waterfront properties sold
- 13 golf course properties sold
- 4 properties sold for $1 Million or more
- 39 were in gated golf communities
- 28 were in Reynolds Lake Oconee
- 42 were in Greene County, 1 was in Morgan County, and 14 were in Putnam County
- 1 bank-owned property sold in December
