Thinking Of Renting Your Tucson Home?

Renting vs Selling - sometimes it is the question when it comes to relocating or even upgrading from your current home.

How do you decide?  Depends mostly on you and what you want or need.  As a long time property manager and listing Broker - I have experience to help no matter what you need or want.  

A basic thought on this topic - if your goal is to make money on renting your home - keep in mind - it is not the monthly rent that will get you to that goal - it is the "down the road part" that will - because real estate is a long term investment.

Here is a chart from the Tucson Association of Realtors December 2016 rental market statistics - from 2011 to 2016 - average rents have fluctuated up and down - but over time - the average rent only increased by roughly $50 a month in 5 years. That supports my thought that if you are going to rent your home - make the goal keeping it rented - preferably by the same tenant - and you do that by keeping your rent affordable and do not raise it every time the lease is up for renewal.

What is the longest I have kept the same tenant in the same house?

14 years (on a 15 year mortgage note) and counting!
