Cold Spring Canyon Arch Bridge: Wine County Link

By

We both marvel at the beauty of the Cold Spring Canyon Arch Bridge located in the Los Padres National Forest.  It is the link from Santa Barbara to Santa Ynez, where the wine country begins.

"It is the 5th longest span arch bridge of this supported deck type in the world.  At its highest point, the bridge deck is 400 feet above the canyon floor.  It is one of the highest bridges in the United States." Wikipedia  This marvel of engineering has won numerous awards for design and beauty.

Your Elevator Statement is a succinct and persuasive summary of your extraordinary promise of value, your unique selling proposition.  In a time-starved world the attention span of your target market is shrinking.  To instantly convey what sets you apart from the crowd you need to be able to answer EACH ONE of these 3 questions in less than 30 seconds.: 1) What Do You Do?; 2)  How Do You Do It?, and;  3) How Are You Different?.  Can you state how you are different and better than your competition in less than 30 seconds?

Watch the video above to see and hear how we do it.

Myrl Jeffcoat It is easy to find.  It is off the 101 as you head towards Santa Barbara.  It is on highway 154 which cut accross the mountains and saves 30 minutes worth of driving, whether one is heading north or south.  It is best seen from Stagecoach road, which was the original road that heads in a circuitous way to Santa Ynex and would probably take 75 minutes to get there.  Thanks to this marvel, it is only 30 minutes from that point.

Karen Hellier If you take this route, you would have seen it.  I have a feeling you were on the freeway to get to Solvang, and no doubt saw the beautiful Gaviota coast.  This is a route that is used by locals who like the half hour it saves by cutting through the mountains.  A

It never ceases to amaze me Ron and Alexandra Seigel  how these marvelous bridges are built and how many people it took to build them

Debbie Reynolds I guessed that you meant fear of bridges, and looked it up.  We met a gentleman who lived in San Francisco, and would not take any bridge towards the wine country or any of the other surrounding areas.  You can take the old Stagecoach Road and still get there, it just takes a bit long and lots of winding roads.  A

Hannah Williams love your comment, could this be the reason we as humans have a fear of building bridges with each other?  I often wonder about that.  A

Different topography but it reminds me of the bridge coming into Taos from the east.

Dianne Goode I doubt you could get a camera crew here in this rugged terrain, and the train does not run through it.  There is an elevated train bridge that goes over the Gaviota coast.  Perhaps they blended both on a green screen.  The elevation is high enough to make our ears pop.  A
