Official 2017 Blog JUMPSTART Challenge - Enhance YOUR Personal Best - Other/Just Read

Social Media - Whether you are new to ActiveRain or have been a member for some time, read Weltanschauung & read the Community Guidelines. Many people begin by reading what others have to write first before writing their own post. This isn't a bad idea, it's just that you may get hooked on someone who isn't following the philosophy or the written guidelines. Therefore, to start off on the right foot, I recommend reading both the Weltanschauung and AR's Community Guidelines. Learn how to participate in social media right from the start. If you leave comments on other people's blog posts, the likelihood of receiving comments on yours are higher. If you read a comment that offends you, go back to the Community Guidelines and if you followed the rules but the other person didn't, you have the right to do one of two things: 1) Delete the Comment; 2) Report it to ActiveRain.

Real Estate Industry -If you are a Real Estate Agent or in the business of the Industry - read the contract, forms, addendums, amendments - read to understand and explain everything to your clients. What is frustrating about the business is when someone doesn't know Contract Law and writes an incomplete contract, or doesn't understand that "Time is of the Essence." In the State of Texas, Buyers & Sellers are given notice that they may consult with an Attorney but it isn' necessary. Every licensed Real Estate Agent must read the contracts and learn to abide by the rules of Contract Law. Just because an Attorney doesn't have to review the contracts and forms in Texas, it doesn't mean that there should be blanks or give the licensee the right to practice law.  If you want to be better at what you do, just read!

the more you learn, the more places you will go. --- Dr. Seuss

As with most things in our world, reading the instructions before proceeding ensure the results will be positive.  You make an excellent point to red the Guidelines before one starts their blog career.  Wouldn't be productive to get off following a format that is not receptive to the general public and also the fellow members

Ed Silva - Just as Julie Andrews taught the kids in the film, "Sound of Music," it's always a good idea to "Start at the very beginning. A very good place to start."

The Community Guidelines is not rocket science but it does assure a successful and happy experience.

Thanks, Ed!

Belinda Spillman - I credit two great doctors for helping me to live a life worth living. The first one was Dr. Zelik who tended to my body, heart, and soul from the day I was born until I was 19 years old. He gave me all the right medicine and performed great surgery. The second one was Dr. Seuss who became a part of my children's library. I read them stories from the time they were born and we practiced his philosophy.  As a result, all three of us traveled far and we're still going places.

Just Read!  Just do it!  There is so much to learn and that never ends in our business.  We've got a new round of new contracts coming out Feb 1 and I've read them all a couple of times and ready to rock and roll as soon as they're up!

Myrl Jeffcoat - Thank you so much for having this featured in the Photos group! That critter made me laugh out loud in the middle of the road while drivers were passing me by. I was so happy and you're right! He does look like a Ferdinand!

Anna Banana Kruchten - Reading is not that difficult and you would think people who can get their license would just read before writing up contracts but they don't! What the heck is wrong with people?

You are way ahead of everyone else - good for you for reading all the new changes beforehand. That's exactly what successful, responsible, and the best agents do. Anna, you ARE the best!!!!

Hi Patricia, having been a voracious reader since the age of seven, all I can say it "spot on, girl." Way too many people don't read enough for pleasure or work.

Excellent advice, Patricia. I am guilty of diving into things without reading instructions fully. Things go so much quicker when you understand what you are doing.
