We've all heard "A Picture is worth a 1000 words".

We've heard the saying a picture is worth a 1000 words.  I would add a second line that says pictures are worth thousands of dollars.  In today's day of technology it floors me to still see listings with poor lighting, bad angles, shots of the photographer in the mirror, and tons of clutter.

As a Realtor I believe I owe my clients the best possible opportunity to market their home right from the beginning.  That usually starts with a conversation about prepping the home for photos.  Most sellers have heard that they need to declutter, but I find that sometimes their idea of declutter and my idea of declutter are not the same.

Once we are on the same page about photo ready I then hire a professional real estate photographer.  There are many services available that cater to the real estate arena for reasonable prices.

I also believe we don't need 60 photos on a 2000 sq ft home.  I prefer to pick the best 20 to 30 photos that represent the home.  I read a study that most buyers only look at the first 7 photos or so unless they see something that really appeals to them.  So why do I see listing after listing that the first 5 photos are all shots of the front of the home from different angles?

Our clients deserve the best representation of their home.  Great photos should be a standard, not an exception.

I have observed that more female Realtors than males typically take more time & concern in taking accompanying  photos for their listings unless the men hire professional photographers.  What are everyone's thoughts on this?  This blog response should catch all you guys attention:-)
