We don't see ice dams much in Silicon Valley, but thanks for the education.

I wish I knew you when I lived in Illinois. I had ice dams but I didn't know what it was or how to fix it. You're right! It's a very expensive problem to fix and it doesn't go away by itself even if the sun comes out. That link will be very helpful to those who need it.

I am SO glad I don't have to worry about this kind of issue in the winter!  Just too much mud and rain, but I can deal with that.

Good morning Mark.  I'm glad I don't need to worry about ice damns down here in Florida.  Everyone up north should be aware of this potential problem.

I have shared about the ice dams we have had in Central Oregon this winter. It has been really tough. Thanks for the blog.

This is good info, Mark. Last year both my sisters had damage to their homes from ice damming on the same day.

Mark- I'd never heard of ice damns but it certainly is interesting.   And, it's another reason why I'm glad to be living in Florida!
