Serious Stuff - Pay attention to your instincts
A MUST READ....
Today has been a odd kind of day with our main site going down for awhile. It took several hours for a couple of us to figure it out but we did, thankfully. I decided to take my little guy Barney for a ride to McDonald's drive up to get myself a diet soda and give him some attention. Poor little guy was being ignored during the website crisis and I figured a drive (his second favorite thing to do) would calm him down a bit.
Before I left I had a very odd thought (VERY odd for me) what if something terrible happened just going out to get a diet coke like an bad accident or something worse - would it be worth going? Now trust me I don't have these kind of thoughts - it's just not my style to think like that. I decided to just let it go and be on my way. Barney was so excited by this time and i didn't want to let him down.
Less than 2 minutes later I was traveling on a busy main street and had the right of way, of course. I was coming up to a steep hilly street that cars are supposed to stop at the stop sign. In a flash I saw a white beamer coming down the hill really fast and I didn't think she was going to stop. I slammed on the brakes fast. She flew out into the road and missed me by a few inches or so. I simply backed up a bit and drove around her as did the cars behind me. I was a bit shaken up but thankful that I had been paying extra attention. I went on my way and low and behold the same car comes buzzing by me again a few minutes later - speeding. Seriously? I couldn't believe it.
Barney, thankfully was in the back seat and landed up on the floor and was just fine. But he usually likes to be in the front seat. Had he been in front he would have slammed into the dash. For some reason when I let him in the car it was in back seat today....
Folks there are angels (or whatever you want to call them) and they are guiding us if we listen. Next time you get an odd, uneasy feeling or a strange thought like I did.... PAY ATTENTION! I am very thankful that I did today.
