Waikapu on 30 is a great place for a breakfast or plate lunch, where you can sit outside at a picnic table in the shade, overlooking a beautiful view of Maui's central valley. You can see the harbor and check out which cruise ships are berthed for the day. You can also see the other shore at Maalaea Bay where the whales come to spend the winter. Straight across is the magnificent vista of Haleakala mountain which makes up a large part of this island.

So if you're in the Wailuku or Waikapu area looking for a good place to eat, be sure to look for their sign and pull over for a huge helping of local food and aloha. They're open from 6 am to 2 pm.
