Rancho Cucamonga, contrary to the Spanish definition of the word “rancho,” is not a ranch at all. Quite the opposite! It is a lively city with lots of things to do with family or friends. Below are ten things you can do for free or on a budget in Rancho Cucamonga.

  1. Love to shop, eat or just want to window shop? Then Victoria Gardens, the nicest and newest mall in the Inland Empire is the place for you. This outdoor mall is the perfect place with over thirty dining options and many more retail stores.
  2.  The farmers' market at Terra Vista Town Center operates every Saturday from 8am-1pm. This is a great way to support your local growers and also enjoy fresh produce.

  3. Enjoy a baseball game at the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes Stadium. Tickets are sold for as low as $10 and they have fireworks every Saturday night. Make sure to grab a hot dog and drink and you are all set!
  4. Go see a show at the Lewis Family Playhouse located at Victoria Gardens. This performing arts center offers many cultural performances and shows throughout the year; perfect for a family outing or to take your date to.
  5. In the mood for a nice jog or a place to ride your bicycle? Head on out to the Pacific Electric Inland Empire Trail. This 21 mile trial links the cities of Montclair, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana and Rialto giving you the opportunity to explore neighboring cities without motorized transportation.
  6. For those of you who like to hike, Etiwanda Falls welcomes you to break a sweat. Located at the North Etiwanda Preserve, this 3.4 mile trail features a waterfall and is perfect for all skill levels.
  7. Enjoy a day at the park by visiting Red Hill Park. You will definitely want to relax by the lake, which has greatly contributed to this parks' beauty.
  8. Adopt a pet! The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center has dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals waiting to go to a loving home.
  9. Go wine tasting at the Joseph Filippi Winery; they offer five tastes for $5. They also offer guided wine tours Wednesday through Sundays at 1 PM.
  10. Grab your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy free summer concerts in the park at Red Hill Park. These family friendly concerts are every Thursday evening from July 6th to August 3rd.
