The "We" in Weltanschauung

ActiveRain's Weltenschauung is for Us; It's What We Believe

When a member joins the ActiveRain community, that member agrees to follow the community guidelines and is in agreement with the Weltanschauung, the guiding principles and world view of the community.  If the member is not willing to play by the rules and these principles, then this is not the place for him.

To be honest most people don't read and understand these rules, guidelines or principles until much later in their membership journey. Lynn B. Friedman with her January Jumpstart Blogging Challenge has challenged us to write a post about what is meaningful about these principles and guidelines. 

The thing that stands out to me is that the word "We" is in Weltanschauung. All 10 statements are written for our betterment and require embracing and subscribing to the principles. It is for our own good. We are in this together.

We are the We in Weltenschauung.

1. We are to use our talents and knowledge for the benefit of all of us.

2. We believe that having and demonstrating local knowledge will set us apart.

3. We believe that home ownership is still the American dream and are to help people achieve it.

4. We believe that it takes active participation from all real estate professionals with vibrant and diverse ideas regardless of affiliations.

5. We know that constructive dialogs about real estate produces transparency with consumers. We are to demonstrate our professionalism.

6. We are proud that we have an open and free exchange of ideas and are not captive to one way of thinking or any other agenda than promoting the interests of home buying, selling and us, real estate professionals.

7. We want contrarian views as this serves to help us examine our positions and develop new opportunities and ideas.

8. We know that we can disagree on topics in a respectful manner. There is no room for bullying and predatory behavior. 

9. We, the ActiveRain Community are not ranked by class or status. Communication is open between us and staff and feedback is welcome. 

10. We believe we can all benefit from learning from one another. Our varying levels of experience and knowledge offer a platform for our professional growth so we can feel the vibrancy and vitality of the ever-changing real estate industry.

The Weltanschauung was written by the ActiveRain Team but "We" are part of the team and certainly part of the ActiveRain Family.
