We have all seen a push in the past few years to buy local. You have local bakeries, farmers markets, restaurants, and even workout centers. In our area, we even have Small Business Saturday. This is a designated time to visit and patron the local small businesses in your community. 

There are definitely not a lack of small businesses in the U.S. We are all familiar with the Walmart, Target, and Starbucks of the country. However, why are we not as familiar with the local small businesses? They actually outnumber the large corporations 1,162:1! 60-80% of all new jobs out there now are coming from small businesses. 

But why support, work for, and patron small businesses? 

Goods & Services Are Not Mass Produced

When you purchase from a corporation, the items you are buying and/or the services you are receiving are produced somewhere far away in mass quantities to be sold to hundreds of people all over the world. The good and services are not customized for your area or for your community. 

Small Businesses Are Local Experts

Why not buy from someone that knows your area? Do you want someone in another state to dictate what you like and how your community is run? Buy from someone that lives where you live and also calls it home. 

Keeps Funds Local

It makes sense that where you earn your money is where you spend your money. The profit made by small businesses is then re-invested into the community and can only help the local economy thrive. It's the circle of life. :)


Personalized Customer Service

Have you ever needed to find something specific in a supercenter and locating a clerk is next to impossible? Or when you have an issue with a product or service and you must call a 1-800 number to then reach someone in another country? That can sometimes cause a few issues and frustrations. When you buy from a local business, you are working with someone who cares about you and the service they are providing you. 


Did you know... that when you work with a Real Estate team, you are acutally working with a small business? Most teams function under a corporate name umbrella. However, each individual team is its own company. They function with very few employees and are typically from the area you call home. They are invested in your needs and want to earn your business and the business of your friends and family.
