And then there were two! Finlay arrived just 6 months ago and he's a hunting dog, always on the go. It seemed a logical thing to find him a sparring partner, or maybe better said a running partner. After all I am getting on and cannot run as fast as puppies do! So the research started.
We wanted a breed known by us, which limited it to Golden Retriever again or an Irish Setter. What I wanted was an older puppy! OM goodness in terms of purebred pups that's a tall order. But last weekend I suddenly spotted 2 Irish Setter puppies age 5.5 months. PERFECT! We called the breeder and by Thursday eveing my husband was driving to Pennsylvania after work. 9am the puppy was selected, loaded and on his way home. 7 hours later they made it home. My poor husband had been driving for 15 hours, with 6 hours in a hotel for some sleep.
Just 2 days later we have two pups that are reasonablygood friends. Yesterday we let them wrestle for a while. Finlay is almost twice Raigan's weight so I needed to be on watch. (Raigan has to gain a few pounds, he is a little underweight.) All in all for the 15 minutes not a growl was heard, no pain squeals, both are soft mothed hunting dogs!
So our family is complete and I hope you enjoy the video of our puppy bowl Sunday Feb 5th 2017.
