The Katy Prairie Conservancy ( KPC) is hosting on Sunday February 12, 2017 a special evening program out in the prairie in the greater Katy area. Participants will search for prairie night predators such as the owls and coyotes. How cool is that. Pretty cool I think! I Sorry kids but this program is meant for adults.

The cost is $50 per person. The night will start with a short talk followed and then Master naturalist and Bird Guide Glenn Olsen will take the whole group out in the prairie in search of predators. The group will be looking to find barn owls, great horned owls, screech owls, short eared owls and hopefully some coyotes. Coyotes usually travel in packs from what I understand.

The adventurer's guide will have a flashlight and scope for for viewing an owl if perched. It is suggested to bring a small flashlight and dress for the weather. Wearing boots is recommended. The prairie is usually cooler at night than the city.

If you want additional data or information about this wonderful conservancy group call 713-523-6135. Space as always is very limited and registering right away is probably necessary. Registering is necessary.

I think this sounds really cool thing to do and would be a lot of fun plus educational to attend.

I agree with Alexandra.  That's a neat title, although, I thought the initials (KPC) first read KFC, and I was looking for fried chicken.

Wow way too scary for me....I laugh because when I lived in New Mexico you could really hear the coyotes howl and they were always on the prowl!

Agreed that this sounds like a very fun event, something that I've never done before.  Seeing owls or coyotes in the wild would be very exciting.
