Active Rain Blog Posts Truly Public?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Eric J - Dream Home Financing

So, I have been away from here for a while. Used to blog quite a bit. I checked up on some of my more popular posts from a few years ago. The stats show thousands of views. However, if I try to look for the posts in google they just not show up. I was able to find ONE in yahoo.

The odd thing is that I am using the exact words that are in the title and yet the blog post does not seem to be listed/public.

These are very specific posts too. Not generalized like "real estate".

Is anyone else experiencing this? Has something changed about the search engine rankings over the years? Maybe once Trulia came into the picture?

I have noticed that if it comes up it will be 7th or 8th.  I need the formula to make me #3.

Yes, they are pushed pretty far back sometimes. I have found some of mine and others not so much.

the thing is that i am paging down 20+ pages into the google search and I am not coming across it. These are fairly specific too.  Here is an example....

blog title: Pier Village at Long Branch New Jersey

This is a very local place. The post was made in 2010 and has 20,000 views but most of those occurred back then. Now... you cannot even find it. This is why I started the thread. What is going on with Active Rain and the search engines? I can tell you that I used to post here and within a few hours I would see it on page one of google.

What this does it that it makes creating blogs here a bit less useful. Reality is that we want others outside of the active rain community (for the most part) to see our posts.

This is a fact, I have noticed after 30 das they are push back if they don't have any activity, if they are click on and opened then you have a better chance to have them available.

Mine run from in Page #1 to can't find them at all. I wish I knew why it was random, I'm guessing it may be the SEO keywords you used in the posting of that particular post. We can add many key words, I suppose the more and more unique the better.

Tom...yeah the crazy thing though is that it seems something changed since Trulia. I am telling you that when I used to blog/post daily here, my posts would show up about 15 minutes later. Was amazing.
