Bonita Point is one of only four lagoon front condo complexes on the south shore of Grand Lagoon. It is adjacent to St. Thomas Square (STS) and it sits on what was originally a portion of STS until the 1987 recession changed the developer's plans for completing the project. Bonita Point is located where five additional STS villas were going to be built.
There are now 51 Bonita Point houses, condos, and townhouses that were completed in 2005 by Dever Development.
Amenities at Bonita Point include a nice clubhouse and pool. The green space within the circular drive serving the complex is not manicured like Greenwood Estates grounds, rather it has a natural landscape composed of sand, pine trees, scrubs, and grasses.
There are 18 covered boat slips with lifts available for lease on a first come first served basis which is very popular. You can expect to be put on a waiting list for an opening for a slip. The reason is because of the convenience of lowering your boat into the water and being in the Bay and Gulf in twenty minutes makes this a popular amenity.
Bonita Point is located one block off Thomas Drive on the east end of the beach. Restaurants, shops, amusements, and the beach are within walking distance. St. Andrews State Park and all it has to offer is only four miles away.
Only two units per year in the last two years have come on the market. They were all two bedroom condos selling from $112,500 to the latest sale of $180,000. Currently a two bedroom is listed for $165,000.
If you want to live on the lagoon and want to be able to walk to the beach, you should consider Bonita Point. The condos are large for this area and the HOA fees are moderate. You will not find a single family home on the lagoon for under $400,000 and range to over a million dollars. The lower priced lagoon front homes are comparable in size with Bonita Point condos. So you can enjoy the same lagoon lifestyle in a condo for less than half the price at Bonita Point. To buy or sell a condo call Scott at 850-329-5910.
