Ever since I have been a Beverly Hills, CA Relocation Realtor, I have written numerous articles about Relocation Tips to Los Angeles and vicinity. These articles were all important and most of them are timeless for someone who is considering relocating to the Los Angeles area. For those of you, who are considering Relocating to Los Angeles or it’s vicinity I am enclosing some of these links at the bottom of this article for your convenience.

Most of my advice has been on how people should prioritize and plan their move in as much detail as possible. The better they are prepared, the smoother the move and the relocation will be. These activities should take into consideration and reference anything related to the actual relocation.

For example, there are different factors to review and consider if one is relocating with pets. Whether they are cats or dogs there are many things to be focused on and considered prior to the relocation. Just as there are additional issues to be taken in consideration, if one is relocating with family where both spouses are working and then to boot children are involved as well. The better one is prepared the smoother and more successful the relocation becomes and the likelihood of a happier transition and settlement will take place.

Equally important is to look at ‘Migration Pattern prior to making the final decision about relocating. The migration patterns will show how the trends are in the area one is considering moving to. The migration patterns will also give an indication, as to how one should negotiate with the company that is offering a relocation. Specifically, I am referring to when it comes to relocation benefit packages one needs to know what the activity is for the part of the country one is considering moving to. What is it like there does the area have inbound or outbound migration? This makes a huge difference when one is bidding on a home will they be competing with many or few people?

Now one might ask, who is best to track this vital information and where can one find this data? In my experience the Moving Companies provide the best and most accurate data.  Enclosed here you will find United Van Lines National Moving Study. This was based on more than 228,000 nationwide shipments. They in turn made this neat interactive map which shows the data and the trends where and why people are moving in the US.

Click on the enclosed link and then click on the interactive map that looks like the one abouve and look at the various reasons people move inbound or outbound, the age, the demographics truly fascinating detailed information. This is such a valuable tool for not only people who are considering a Relocation, but equally beneficial to Developers, Investors as well as local Realtors who want to be ahead of the Market Trends.

In closing, equally important in addition to knowing what the migration patterns are, one needs to contact a seasoned Relocation Specialist.  One who is willing to take the time and energy that it requires to educate you about the various locations as well as show you the various neighborhoods. It is just as critical in choosing the right Relocation Realtor as all the above-mentioned activities.

Hi Endre -- interesting post.   I would have never thought of Utah as an "outbound" location and definitely think of Texas as very high inbound(or maybe that's because I live in California and so many move there from here).

Hi Endre - Great advice and a very useful set of data to look carefully at when considering a relocation. As for Colorado, it grew by 102,000 in 2015 - I'm not sure I'd call that balanced.

Interesting topic, Endre. I would have thought that Tennessee would be high inbound as the Nashville area is now said to be number one faster growing area in the country.

Interesting data.  I checked out the link and looked at Idaho - high on the inboud list as I had expected.  I didn't realize Oregon would be higher than Idaho, and I am surprised by South Dakota being number 1, not surprised about California being balanced.  We have a lot of relocating clients from California, but CA is still such a nice place to live for many reason that certainly people are headed there as well. Thanks for the great info and that link!-Kasey
