If you are up for a fitness building, challenging run or hike in Tucson - then Blackett's Ridge Trail is it!
But first - some tips:
Start EARLY and bring lots of water and fuel food.
It is the desert - and there are desert critters - including snakes out so be aware.
The roundtrip trek is 6.2 miles from the start (you still have to walk to get to the start) and it involves vertical climbing up to 1700 feet.
Wear good shoes - the path is mostly rocky and rugged and lots of switchbacks.
Wear hats and sunscreen too - you will be happy you did.
But once you get to the top - you will have a breathtaking view of Tucson - it's worth the challenge for sure!
How to get there: several locations will get you there - but the best place - Sabino Canyon Park entrance and follow the signs!
