Zillow.... STILL FAKE NEWS

Some of my very first blog posts (2007) centered around my extreme criticism of Zillow, now more commonly referred to as Z. Sometimes I think agents are nervous about using their name when spelling out facts because they're afraid they're somehow violating the Ten Commandments or in fear of being sued by the almighty Syndicate. I prefer calling them a Syndicate because it carries the same darkness of a mob family. But that's just opinion.

A lot has happened in the last decade. Technology has vastly improved, cures have been discovered and the Cubs have actually won a World Series. Donald Trump is President and Assist To Sell has all been but been eradicated throughout the Houston area.

But the Zillow Zestimate has been incredibly consistent. Being consistent is usually something to be proud of but not in this post.

Fake news websites (also referred to as hoax news[1][2]) deliberately publish hoaxespropaganda, and disinformation purporting to be real news — often using social media to drive web traffic and amplify their effect

Greg, I use "Z" because why give them more SEO?  I'm competing with them for buyer eyes.  It's the same reason I wouldn't post about other brokerages by name in my area.

Zillow can make our job easier when they are exposed for their Zestimates.  See I used the real words

Greg, I must be slower than slow today because I am unable to connect the dots here.  I do fully understand your point about how consistently bad Z is.

And now they say that agents can no longer manually enter listings so that they can improve the quality of the listings! (OMG...I can't stop laughing!!) Another bullying tactic to force MLS's into agreeing to syndicate to them!

How low can you go?  Z is inaccurate -- this fall, Buyer A submitted a verbal offer from their agent who apologized for how low the offer was. Her buyers saw the Z estimate, and so that is where they came up with their "reasonable offer". Only problem was it was $20K too low.  A few days later, Buyer B signed a contract on the house!

Still erroneous...and still getting money from real estate agents to support it Greg!
