The FROGS at Church Sing Better Than I Do

Frog eating a flyI'm not exaggerating! Of course even a real frog has better singing skills than I but the FROGS at church is our Children's choir.

I'm surprised my kids prefer to sing with this choir over the adult choir because I think they are at the age they could sing with either. Lucky for them they did NOT inherit their dad's singing skills.

We have a ton of musical talent including a pastor who was a professional guitarist with The Young Americans and a drummer who used to play with Prince as a studio musician not to mention several music teachers. Music is a HUGE part of our ministry so you can appreciate it even if you sing like a FROG (or a toad like me).

It really does William Feela . It's good to be able to stand up in front of a crowd and put oneself out there. Timmothy has yet to sing any solos but Tina has.

I do sing out loud Noah Seidenberg , but not very loud. If I see people turning around to see who is making that noise it's not a good thing.

Nice! My kids haven't taken to music (yet) but I am forcing my son to take drum lessons and my oldest daughter started singing along with the congregation this year, so I'm hopeful. My son refuses to sing because he said he "sounds like a dying cat."

Nathan Gesner I had drum lessons when I was about 13 years old but I never really caught on. My bride has a beautiful voice but she has had no interest in joining the choir.

Our church seems to like this crazy acronyms. Our Youth group is Never Underestimate The Spirit. (NUTS) Which is pretty fitting for a teenage group of kids Sheila Anderson

Our church has 3 services Sandy Padula and Norm Padula, JD, GRI NMLS#1483386 and it's the later two that are the most heavy attended. Those are the ones that are very focused on music where the 1st service is very traditional.

Hi Bob, that's a great way for youth to perform in front of a friendly and caring audience.  Like you, the singing skill skipped my generation.  My Dad was an Accomplished Tenor, and taught High School Choir - but, I got the froggy voice!  (he was also a South Dakota Lutheran growing up)

John and Kathryn Alexander- Slocum glad to know I'm not the only one who was not blessed with golden vocal cords, sometimes I feel that way. I will say though that I would probably do better with a Baptist hymnal as some of those 200 year old Lutheran hymns test the best of vocal cords.

I agree Patricia Feager , many people would be to full of fear to stand in front of a crowd of 200 to 300 people and perform.
