Bloggers Connect San Francisco 2008

Blogging was growing in leaps and bounds when I had the great fortune to attend the first Bloggers Connect convention in 2007, just 10 months after joining ActiveRain and "becoming a blogger," and the second one in San Francisco at the Palace Hotel in 2008. I remember how exciting it was to be meeting many early, and well-known, AR members from different parts of the country IN PERSON! And that feeling has never changed.

It seems that many of the same issues that were discussed at this event are relevant today.

Good for you for jumping on the band wagon in 2007! I started blogging in 2008 with Active Rain and went to Houston for an AR Boot camp! Learned so much..it was so exciting.

Hi Carol Williams - in the early years there were lots of local and regional events like this, including the REBarCamps and the popular ActiveRain RainCamps - many of us attended and hope the in-person event will happen again

It was great fun getting started "in the early days," and there was a different level of excitement then about blogging, perhaps because it was so new and was growing so fast. And there were more face to face gatherings.

RainCamps were wonderful, weren't they Dorie Dillard - I hope they have them again.

It was great fun Lottie Kendall . There were several of them (as I recall they were right before Inman Connect) and then a couple of REBlogWorld events, one which I attended in Las Vegas.

Perhaps they will bring back Raincamps Beth Atalay They were very popular, athough perhaps expensive to hold around the country. I think I went to 5 of them and they were incredible for the learning AND the networking!
