Eye Allergy Problem Spreads in Katy TX.

I previously wrote a post concerning an eye allergy issue I was having back in November. I went to our eye Doctor and he told me to use over the counter cream with 1% hydrocortisone three times a day. I followed instructions and after about one week the problem appeared to disappear.

During December 2016 allergy issue on my eyelids came back. I followed the same instructions from the eye doctor but this time the condition never went away. Slowly but surely it spread to my face with the area below my right eye getting impacted. This area is is very red and looks horrible. The pain is like being stuck with tiny pins. Unfortunately the same stuff has now spread to the area around my left eye!

During the last 7-10 days the condition has gotten worse. I went to our Internal Medicine Doctor this past Thursday. He said the same thing as the Eye Doctor as this is a allergy of some type. Continue to use the hydrocortisone and add a skin hydrating lotion being Cetaphil was his advice. I have followed his recommendation but the condition has continued to spread and the pain is getting more frequent and occurring more often.

I asked my doctor what should I do if this condition persists. His comment is go to a Dermatologist. The Dermatologist we go to is almost impossible to get an appointment unless you can wait 3 months or so. NO BUENO! Talk about about a niche market opportunity! My Doctor did give me the names of two other groups who he said I should be able to get in right away. I hope I get an appointment and receive medical direction which relieves this onslaught. My face is starting to look like a rough road in west Texas!

I am posting this picture as I think this picture is a gorgeous sight. Looking at it makes me smile even though my face condition hurts all the time.

Bob, you might want to look into some naturopathic remedies. Hydrocortisone is not something to mess with, as I've had severe skin conditions, too and this medication isn't supposed to be put around your eyes, from what I heard as it can cause problems for your actual EYES. I've had to use Cetaphil for my body skin and it didn't really help my skin condition, accept to give it some needed moisture and a bit of relief from the pain and itching. I went to a dermotologist, too. No help at all, except to give me a serious prescription for hydrocortisone that you couldn't get over the counter. The pharmacist really warned me to use it sparingly and not get it around my eyes. (I currently haven't had the condition spread to my face, but it's been on-again, off again all over my body).

The underlying cause is what you want to get to, and that, I believe, is what a naturopath will look at. Skin allergies are so hard to pin down!  I have gotten rid of clothes detergents that had any kind of perfumes/dyes, which seems to have helped a bit. Stress is a factor, what we eat, etc. Coconut oil has helped me. I take it internally as well, as using it topically.

Good luck, my friend.

Bob,

In addition to what Gayle Rich-Boxman Fishhawk Lake Realtor (503)755-2905 said, eating locally produced honey is another way to keep allergies at bay.  I hope this is resolved for you very soon.  Love the picture.  A

Speaking of local honey, the World Wildlife Fund or Defenders of Wildlife (organizations I give to, and I believe that's their name) sent me a newsletter about their accomplishments last year and bees have been put on the endangered species list, as one of the many great things they've done in the last year.

For a few years leading up to 1990, I had an eye lid allergy, that is believed to have emanated from the eye liner makeup I'd been using.  In January of that year I needed to go in for minor surgery, and I just happened to mention it to my doctor, as they were putting me under anesthesia.  I've not had it since.   I don't know what he applied to it, but it knocked the bejeebers out of it!

Gosh, Bob. This sounds awful. Anytime our eyes are not 100% it's hard to live with. We have the same issues here with dermatologists in Charlotte--long waiting times, but if you're a steady patient and have an emergency they'll usually find a way to get you in.

Bob that's terrible news.  My husband has some like this too and he got a cream from the dermatologist -  it's pricey but it works so it's worth it. I hope you get in to another dermatologist right away and are able to get this skin allergy cleared up.
