Book Review - 48 Days to The Work You Love - by Dan Miller - This was not a book I had originally planned on picking up, rather my wife mentioned it to me. She is a Project Manager and the Director in her company mentioned it was a must read to her, naturally she shared it with me because she knows I am always on the lookout for great reads.
This one definitely fit the bill. It is written for those seeking to find work they can be passionate about,
writing resumes, building relationships in the fields that you want to work in and knowing who to target and how to target them, and then follow up, follow-up.
This sounded quite a bit like what we should be doing as Realtors and what I try to bring to the table for my agents and any other agent that will listen to me. When you find somethign that you are passionate about, then you become more immersed in it, you become more educated on the subject and you do not consider what you do work.
Take people in the entertainment industry, whether it is athletics, movies, TV or music, the really good ones work their ass off, but they love every minute of it and the vast majority would not have it any other way. When you find what you are meant to be doing, every day is a wonderful ride, an incredible experience, a true joy to get out of bed every morning.
I have found what I love to do, and that is to help others find their niche in the industry.
I really believe this book is full of great information for both Realtors and anyone seeking a career change as well as those entering the job market. I have seen it with all three of my boys, if they would follow the plan that is laid out in this book, they all may have found their dream jobs long ago, and if agents use the book to target clients and utilize the follow through, I think the success rate would be much higher.
I am not only giving this book $$$$$, I am also giving a copy to each of my children so they can live the life they desire-
I rate books with a $-$$$$$ rating based on how valuable the book is to my business and how valuable I feel it is to the audience.
- $$$$$ means that the book is a must have for any library and a good book to refer to anytime you need sound advice
- $$$$- means that the book is very good and worth reading
- $$$- means there may be a few nuggets of information, and if you can’t find something else to do go ahead and read this book
- $$- do not waste your time
- $- I am sorry I wasted my time and be thankful you saw this book review before wasting yours
