I'm working on a series of lessons learned.
You picked them because you both liked the color. NOthing wrong with that. We finish our homes to suit our taste and not always with resale on our minds. People can always change these things out and maybe select yellow!

I just want to caution folks to be careful when making decisions that could create challenges down the road.
Good Morning Donna - something that is going to cost money to replace is certainly worth thinking about.

Careful consideration.
I am getting a new listing in a few weeks where the selelr has invested in Corain Green countertops. I know they cost a bundle but don't think many buyers are going to like them. The only thing to overcome something like that is price.

I love your post! It's so thoughtful and honest! I currently still have my 1990 style white Formica which was a vast improvement from what I had but I wouldn't want white Formica again. I think our styles change and when people see new counter-tops at other people's houses and in stores, they always want something different. Blue could come back! At least you enjoyed it!
Patricia Feager We bought our current house 10 years ago and we've been talking about replacing our kitchen counters. We have silestone and it's been great, but we're bored with the look of it!
At the bottom of the market I had a condo listing and it had Blue Quartz counters super expensive and could not sell it for the life of me.... no one liked it... so after I lost the listing I hated blue Counters too:))Endre
Endre Barath, Jr. When we aren't in the business of buying and selling, or investing in homes, we just don't think about resale!
Every decision I have ever made in a home (even long before I ever knew what staging was) involved the consideration of resale value.
Sharon Tara Before I was a Realtor, I did whatever made me happy and never thought about resale. In my first house we had ice blue carpeting!
Donna,
Now if they had been blue granite, they would have been spectacular. One of the office buildings we represented had a medallion in granite in the lobby floor and one of the inserts was blue granite. It is really gorgeous. Wishing you an easy sale. A

It was 10 years ago and once we got the buyer who wasn't picky about the countertops it was smooth sailing.
