The anticipation of spring is always a fascination with me. As a homegrown Midwestern girl, I was fascinated by the weather and the storms that lit up the sky at night. I could be perched on my front porch protected by a red and white canopy chasing storms across the sky with my eyes shifting from left to right, up and down. Raindrops falling on the metal canopy sounded like a symphony until a thunderclap caused me to practically jump out of my skin!
Childs play is hard work. You're always thinking, imagining, creating thoughts inside your head and feeling the power of nature's intensity of storms, the wind blowing across your face, or the sun beating down giving you warmth. I have always had that connection to weather and nature's gardens and how it fits into my life. As the flowers grow, so do I. Perhaps that's why I enjoy taking photographs of flowers to share my excitement about beauty and the anticipation of spring and warmer weather. Although Texas weather doesn't compete with northern climate it still brings its fair share of rain but most of all a lot more sun. I understand what it's like to live out long seasons without the sun or warm weather and harsh winters, that's why I'm empathetic to my northern relatives and friends. Living in Texas changes things and I get to play in the dirt more planting flowers and pulling out never ending weeds. Life is Good!!!
