Horrible voicemail left by seller for real estate agent

Services for Real Estate Pros with Agent Reputation

A real estate agent, representing potential buyers, showed a house and the seller was up in their crawl following them around the house during the presentation. This kind of unnerved the potential buyer. The next day, the agent received this voice-mail that sounded a lot like the seller. Most rude and creepy voice mail EVER. The caller goes sideways after 35 seconds. Play the video below to hear the voice mail.

So I would like to open this up for comments.

1) This was an appointment and the buyers agent walked the prospective buyer around the house showing off it's features and such. You are never just going to let the buyer run amok through a house. It is one thing to have an open house of a vacant home, get busy and have multiple parties going through the house and another to let a hot buyer at an appointment go off on their own because they "know what a bathroom looks like."

2) Have you ever had a seller participate "uninvited" in an appointment where you are showing the house. How would you handle the seller following your client around for the presentation. Would you say something directly? Maybe call the listing agent to handle it? Needless to say, this creeped the potential buyer out and they passed on this house.

3) What was the craziest voice mail you ever recieved?

If that wasn't so darned creepy, it'd be funny!

  1. You're responsible for the home while you and your client(s) are in it so yes, I always walk them through the home and don't just sit back and relax.
  2. I have had elderly sellers who were incapacitated and who could not leave the home during a showing.  During that time, we made very casual and quick conversation while going through whatever room they were confined to - always trying to be polite.  I've had sellers follow us around and it almost always made for the creepiest, most uncomfortable showings.  My clients always ended up passing on those homes.
  3. Craziest voicemail I ever received was a seller telling me that because I was 10 minutes late for our appointment, I could not see her home.  She said I wasn't "welcome" any longer.  Oh well....after showing 15 homes and hers being #16, I can't say I was disappointed!

That would be a BYE BYE and do not call me ever again. Somebody had too much coffee perhaps?
