Matters of the Art - Staging with the End in Mind

The whole point of home staging is to increase value perception for the asking price, so a buyer will happily pay that asking price. This is achieved with skillful inventory selection, and art is definitely an important part of our in-house inventory.

Matchy-matchy" is a dirty word in design. Instead, we talk about "flow." To get a property we are staging to have this magical concept of flow, you need it to be cohesive. Well designed. Attractive.

That's fairly easy. Just repeat the color scheme in varying amounts. But to really know what you are doing, color used judiciously can make a big difference, as in, making the space look and feel significantly larger, both during a showing and online.

In our above example photo, we have shown two pieces of nice art in the dining area. But the lower photo shows how a perfect piece for the job, with the all the right stuff, can make a dual purpose room, like this living room/dining room combo, blend.

By blurring the lines with art, the dining room feels like an extension of the dining area, and vice versa. And voila. The eye wraps around both spaces, making both feel larger. Education, skill, and experience can collide to make your property explode with offers.
